Hi,
Is pixel advertising dead? I'm using Gpix from tufat.com - works great and all -but I can't seem to get a single pixel purchase. Any ideas for a good marketing approach to pixel websites?
Thx.

Not dead: I think a better label would be "stillborn." IMO, it failed before it started because it is a terrible idea, when implemented as it was originally. I'm sure there are a few people who go to a page with a thousand randomly placed and sized adverts on it and click on parts of it, but those people are extremely few.
It was a marketing gimmick, and the first person who did it made a million dollars because it was a brand new idea when "brand new idea" could mean "a million dollars" even if it was completely unusable (which it is). I don't know that anyone has really made money on it unless they were the ones selling the pixelspace.
This even ignores that you have to buy a crapload of the "pixels" (I know they aren't usually 1px-by-1px) just to put enough info on the ad for anyone to know what you are selling, thus making it less useful.
At least, this is the impression that I get.
